CDCR stands for California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

What’s CDCR Physical Fitness Test ?
The PFT is a 500 yard course which consists of running on a variety of different surfaces, up and down one flight of stairs, and a mini obstacle course.
After the run, tow hand- held weights of 45 pounds each are carried a distance of 50 yards and are then set down.
Another 45 pound weight is carried for 75 yards and then set down, Lastly, a 30 pound weight id carried for a final distance of 110 yards and then set down.
Candidates must complete the PFT in the required time of 5 minutes and 5 seconds to pass the PFT portion of the selection process.

Composition of CDCR Test
In order to be qualified, you need to pass all the CDCR including
- Written Examination
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT) (Pass/Fail)
- Personal History Statement (PHS)
The CDCR Physical Test Requirement
To assess these abilities, you will need to:
- Run a 500-yard course (approximately) on a variety of different surfaces
- Run up and down one flight of stairs
- Complete a mini obstacle course
- Carry two (2) 45-pound hand-held weights over a distance of 50 yards and set them down;
- Then, carry one (1) 45-pound weight over 75-yards and then set it down; and,
- Lastly, carry one (1) 30-pound weight over a final distance of 110-yards and then set down
To successfully pass the PFT portion of the selection process, candidates must complete the course in the required time of 5 minutes and 5 seconds.
